Tokyo Olympics 2020

The Olympics are an event of international athletes competting in different sport events. 

Sentences and Grammer.

 My group did a presentation about all the punctuation marks. 

First we made two posters explaining simple sentences and compound sentences.  A simple sentence is only explaining one piece of information. A compound sentence is two sentences with a conjunction.  Then added on some examples and images showing simple and compound sentences

Next we created a presentation about punctuation marks.  For example: Full stop, exclamation mark, comma, question mark, and more.  

To finish up We made a fanboys slide with the grammar slide showing.  We had to cut all the incorrect words and put them into the incorrect words space. All the words were homophones. Which means it sounds the same but has a different meaning and sound. 

I learned a lot about punctuation, grammer, and fanboys.   

Basic Facts Boxes

 I completed a can-do task called basic facts boxes. 

I did up to 20 subtraction. I got 100/100 and my time was 5 minutes and 21 seconds. 

Next time I do this task I will try a harder level and I will try to improve my time.

Addtion and Subtraction

Addtion and Subtraction can be solved by using two strategies: counting on/back, rounding and compansating. 

Counting on is adding forward using fingers when the number added is under ten. Counting back is subtracting using fingers, when the number subtracted is under ten. 

Rounding and compansating is rounding the added or subtraction number to the nearest tidy number, then compansating. Compansating is done by spliting the new number into the old number and the leftover. 

Counting on/back and rounding and compansating are easy strategies to use for addtion and subtraction, when numbers get too big to be solved with basic facts. 

The Four Amigos Party popper

 My group and I  made a party popper design 

In the beginning, we chose a design to be on our cup. We chose Among Us. We all drawed the same design and put it on our cup.  We drew among us a player and a vent. 

Second We added on our main things.  For example, we added our striker, our rubber band stopper and our filling.  

To finish up we showed our teacher our design. We needed to still work on it because it wasn't empty. 

I enjoyed making a party popper because I made a party popper and showed our principal.  We needed to work on our striker. It hit the edge of the cup but confetti still exploded.  

SSR Selfie

 I read a non-fiction book called killer energy by Nick Arnold and Tony De Saulles. 

I read 20 pages of the book. This book was all about energy. 

I read a book about a volcano. The volcano stores heat and movement enrgy.

 I completed a can-do activity called basic facts boxes. 

I did the speed demon challenge. I got 3 minutes and 31 seconds. My score was 100/100. 

Next time I do this task I will do a harder level and I will try to improve my time. 

The 4 Amigo's Prototype

 My company, The 4 Amigos created a party popper design 

In the beginning, My group and I thought about the parts we were attaching to make our prototype. For example, we changed a small rubber band to a longer rubber band to have enough strength to hit the cup.  We then thought of other ideas that can be changed. 

Afterwards we tested the parts to see if it was going to be a good prototype. For example, we tested the rubber band to see how hard it would hit the cup. Then we tested other parts. 

To finish up We assembled all the parts to make a prototype  After we assembled all the parts we tried out the prototype. Our party popper was able to explode out. 

I enjoyed making party poppers because it was able to be pop out of the cup.

  I read black panther from Brandon T. Snider. 

I read 34 pages. In the beginning of the story it talks about black panther becoming king because of his dad’s pass.

Klaw is a bad guy who steals from wakanda. One day Klaw wanted to steal wakanda resources for his own evil. It was uranium, this uranium was a powerful element they used on black panther suit so he couldn’t die. 

I enjoyed reading black panther because he was always protecting his country.

 I completed a can do activity called basic facts boxes.

I did the speed demon challenge subtraction up to 5. I got 100/100 and my time was 3 minutes and 36 seconds. 

Next time I do this task I will try to improve in my time and I will do a harder level.

 

Temperature and Capacity

 I measured temperature and capacity.  

I first did my measurements on capacity using large and small measuring cylinders. Then I fill up the cylinders with water. My measurements were 149 ML (149 millilitres), 63 ML (63 millilitres), 7 ML (7 millilitres), and 16 ML (16 millilitres). 

After that I did my temperature measurements. I used thermometers to check the temperatures. I filled up 2 lunch boxes hot and cold and measured the temperature. My Tempertures were 12°C (12 Celsius), and 36°C ( 36 Celsius)

I need to improve in reading thermometers because I was reading Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.
