Rhythm Interactive

After morning tea we went to the hall for rhythm interactive. A person named Johnny taught us rhythms and beats.
He use a drum called djembe and put drums for everyone to play. Then he ask us questions and if you get the answer right we get drums to put in our music room to play with  and do more rhythm. Johnny split us into 2 groups and we sang a song called I love chocolate cake, yes I do. Group 1 had to sing " I love chocolate" and group 2 sang " yes I do"

It was fun. He taught us rhythms and songs. I learnt to do rhythms.

Hiwi the Kiwi

Hiwi the Kiwi

This morning room 5 went to an event at the hall called Hiwi the Kiwi. Mr Minstrel told us about going fishing. One rule about fishing is everyone has to wear a life jacket if they're on a boat. If you catch a daddy and mummy fish put them back in the water because baby's are in their stomach. Then we sang a song called Kai Moana. It was all about food from the sea. If you want to pick up a fish pick it up with a wet salt towel.

It was very fun. He taught us a lesson about fishing and wearing a life jacket every time when you go fishing.

Zoo Trip

At the zoo we saw a kiwi. My favorite animal was a red panda because it was fury and funny.

The moon

The Moon

Image result for the moon

Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to
walk on the moon.
The astronauts
need a helmet and a space suit because there
is no air on the moon.
The moon is smaller than the sun. The moon goes
around Earth in an oval orbit.
The moon orbits the Earth every 27.3 days.
The moon is interesting to learn about.

Stardome reacount

Finally as I went into the Stardome it became my favourite place.
As we all entered the Stardome we saw a rocket with Buzz Aldrin,
Neil Armstrong and Micheal Collins going into space.

A girl named Vanessa was leading us to a classroom to tell us
about space and about planets. She told us about the rocky midgets
and gas giants. The rocky midgets are the planets that are small and
the gas giant is the big planets. The big gas giant  planets are Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the rocky midgets are Earth, Mercury,
Mars, Venus. Then she showed us a photo of Neil Armstrong and
Apollo 15 landing on the moon.

She gave us ipads and told us to use the information on the walls to
answer the questions. Then we got up to a question really interesting.
The question was ‘what is New Zealand's rocket called?’.
I never knew New Zealand had its own rocket.
When I looked on the
wall I found out it was called Electron and we got the question right.

After that we went to the Planetarium and we had to sit on a chair
and look at the ceiling. Then Vanessa showed us an animation with
little kids building a rocket made out of cardboard.
They said 5,4,3,2,1 whoosh!
The rocket went way up into space and was very loud.
They all got their stuff and a book to know about space.
They discovered that Jupiter is very dangerous because it has
lightning and storm.

The Stardome was the best because I learnt a lot of things.
My favourite part was the Planetarium because we saw the milky way and
I thought it was cool.
