Rippa Rugby

LI: To learn the basics of rippa rugby.

This week LS1 and Room 5 went across the road to the dunkirk field. The coaches from marist came along and helped us with some drills. Each field was filled with students playing rappa rugby. Our coaches name was Sam and Tani . Our first drill was passing. we had to get in 4 lines and the person in the front of the line had to go to the cone on the other side. After that we got into a real game. To start the game you need to tap and pass so the person next to you could have a turn of the ball. It was red vs black and the black team won 4- 5.

After that we started with the 3D shapes. The shapes had to be touching each corner of each shape. Next was the floor. the floor was hard to make because we didn't know how to make it but we tried our best and got it correct. Last was the walls. it was the last thing because it was easy to do.

Te Tiriti o Treaty of Waitangi

Ti Tiriti o te Waitangi

This week we have been learning about the Treaty of Waitangi by accessing different text types and media.

In groups we needed to firstly access the information and gather the main ideas of Who, What, Where, Why and When. We had journal stories, website, youtube videos and more.

We then had to summarise the information in to sentences using key words. Even though we all picked out different words, the main idea of the treaty are the 3 Ps.

The 3 Ps are Protection, Partnership and Participation. This is what the treaty set out to achieve.

We then had to evaluate our new learnings and think of questions that we want to find more information on.
