Cicadas Do Maths | SLJ

 I completed a SLJ task called cicadas do maths. This task was to make a timline about would I do around the age 17 to 51 and how might I feel. 

First I watch a video to see what to do. Then I wrote my timeline. In each box I write what I would still be doing as a adult.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt that cicadas have the longest life cycle. 

Poetry slam Rua | SLJ

Chisa and I have done another poetry slam activity called kenning poem. Kenning poems is a two word phase to describe something. One word is a verb and the other is a noun. 

First we watched a video on what to do first. Then we thought of animals that relate to summer. We picked bees because we both had bees in our garden.

 Chisa and I both enjoyed this activity because we both took part in this and thought about the words we were using.

Poetry Slam Tahi | SLJ

 I completed a summer learning journey task. This task was called poetry slam tahi. For this task I had find verbs, adjective, adverb and more, words.

First I watched a video on what to do. Then I added my favourite verb and adjective. Then I added the synonym. 

After that I added my images about summer. 

I enjoyed this task because the synonym words helped me learnt new words.

  

Build Something That Floats | SLJ

 I completed another summer learning journey task. This task was creating something that floats. I created a boat that floats on water. 

First I watched a video on what to do. I had to gather up materials to make my boat. The resources I used were: Glutac, Piece of paper, plastic lid, and a pencil. 

I then tested it on water. It worked but a little bit on water came on my boat. 

I enjoyed this activity because I used my creativity to come up with a boat. 

 

Fun Perspective Images | SLJ

 I completed an SLJ activity. This activity was to create a fun perspective image. 

First I watched a video on what to do. I first used my brother's phone to create these images. I thought of some ideas but my camera skills wasn't good so my brother was the cameraman. 

The first idea I had was to use a toy but I didn't know where my toys were. I looked at the video again and found some ideas. I grabed some large boots and put it infront of my legs to make it look like I was wearing them. 

The 3 tips I recommend in making a perspective activity is to: be creative with your images, Have fun, and you get lost you can always look back at the video. 

 

Mandela Mania | SlJ

 I completed another SLJ activity. This task was to garther up matrieals to make a circle partern. 

I garhered up the leaves and flowers. I made sure I had some colurful leaves and flowers.

I enjoyed this task because from a bird's eye view it looks amazing. 

Geometree | SLJ Activity #3

Today I comepleted the gemotree activity. This was the third activity oof the summer learning journey. I decided to do the kick start. 

I first watched a video to see what to do. Then I look at some examples. I then looked at the different triangles. 

I then coloured in all the triangles. I then finished, it looked like an tree. 

I found this activity hard because I had to looked at the examples over and over again to look how it was done. 

Vetor Art | SLJ

Vector art was the third activity of the third activity. I created this using lines like curved and poline. We had draw your heros or inspirations. 

I chose David Kirk as my hero. I chose him because he inspried me to play rugby. One of his quotes were: Something that cannot stand by itself should not stand.

Art Colouring Book | SLJ

This activity was called art colouring book. I coloured in a atronaut waving at the camerea. 

The image is about Joseph Tanner performing the first ever EVA Mission.

Basic Facts Boxes

 I did division speed demon challenge. 

My score was 81/90 I missed 7 and got 1 wrong because I didn’t know them. My time was 4 minutes and 54 seconds.

Next time I do my divisions I want to learn my 7s, 8s, and 9s times table because those are the ones I missed. 

Fractions

 I did activity where I had to identify imprper fractions. 

First I wrote the fractions in words. For example: Three Halves

Then I wrote the fractions in numbers. For example: 3/2

Afterwards I put in a image showing the words I wrote. 

Lastly I wrote a little description. For example: All pieces were cut into 2 pieces (halves) Two pieces have gone. There are 3 halves .

I enjoyed this acivity because the little description filled in help me.

Comment Thread

I completed the comment thread task. Comment thread is commenting on someone blog post and saying what you like about it. 

In a comment thread you should always start with a greeting. For example: Malo e Lelei. You write something you enjoyed about their blog.

SSR Selfie

 I continued reading Bad Guys. Bad Guys is a fiction book. 

The main characters are Snake, Animals, and Cat. 

After Snake get integrated he starts seeing things so he gets help by Cat. Cat tells snake to go to bed and get some rest. When snake wakes up he feels better. 

I enjoyed reading this book because it give me goosebumps everytime snake sees things because it's scary.

Basic Facts Boxes

  I completed basic facts boes division. 

My score was 82/90 and my time was 4 minutes and 32 seconds. 

I need to stop agonising over the equation and I want to improve my time. 

Fairy Tale Fix up | Little Red riding hood

I used little red riding hood to plan a fairy tale. 

First I thought about a characters I should switch. 

Then I changed the chrachters, setting, conflict, the plot, ending, point of view, and create mix match. 

I enjoyed this task because I got to put in my favourite characters. 

Inproper Fracions

I completed a task called inproper fractions. Inproper fractions is when the numerater in hight than the denomenater. 

The first thing I wrote was a fraction. For example: 2/7

Next I represented the inproper fractions using a number line, pizza slices, and a short description.

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn more about inproprer fractions. 

Maori Questions

  I completed a task called mari questions. 

This task is making your own questions and answering them in Maori. 

For example: Kei hea te peni? Kei roto i te pouaka. When creating the sentences the question will start with kei hea.... and the answer will start kei... i te....

I enjoyed this task because I understand the postions properly.

Basic Facts Boxes

 I completed basic facts boxes subtraction up to 20. 

I got 100/100 and my time was 3 minutes and 16 seconds. 

Next time I do this task I will go up a level. 

SSR Selfie

 I read fiction book called diary of a wimpy kid. 

The main characters are Greg, Rodrick, mum,dad and Manny. 

In the beginning of the story Greg’s mum is happy after buying greg a journal. Greg was embarrassed showing his journal to people because it had a diary heading in the front the front of the book. 

After seeing a funny video greg wanted to recreate it and be famous but they couldn’t do it because Rowley doesn't want to get hurt.  

I enjoyed reading this book because Greg's always making good choices when he's getting distracted.
